3. Categories of Personal Information Processed

4. Purpose of Processing

To operate the job-matching marketplace, publish grouped anonymous statistics, send weekly update emails, and record which partner and advertiser links are used (the link tapped, the date and time and the type of device, recorded against your name and reference number if you are registered on that device, and without a name if not).

5. Recipients of Personal Information

A business that you have given us permission to introduce you to (your CV and contact details only, for that one introduction), and cloud storage and email providers. The directors of Work Marketplace may view link-usage records, including the names of registered users, after signing in. Independent partners and advertisers you choose to contact through the Platform receive only what you send them directly.

6. Special Personal Information

Work Marketplace asks for one item of special personal information as defined in section 26 of POPIA: employment equity status, which relates to race. Giving it is optional, and a person who selects "Not Specified" gives none. It is processed only with the person's consent (section 27(1)(a) of POPIA), to match them with suitable vacancies, and is not included in the details shared with businesses. We do not request health, religious or political beliefs, trade union membership or criminal behaviour, and users should avoid including such information in free-text fields or CVs.

7. Cross-Border Transfers

Personal information may be processed by cloud service providers located outside South Africa. Such transfers are made in accordance with section 72 of POPIA.

8. Data Subject Rights and How to Exercise Them

To request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, or to object to processing, email info@workmarketplace.co.za with your request. We will respond within a reasonable time as required by POPIA.

9. Security Safeguards

Reasonable technical and organisational safeguards are applied to protect personal information against loss, unauthorised access, interference, and disclosure.
